Real-time water level data for fire response

In participating areas, meter.me users can securely share water-level data with local fire departments via our Tablet Command integration.

This provides first responders with near-real-time access to local water sources directly in the Tablet Command app—including locations, capacities, current levels, and hydrant availability. When timing is critical, this data empowers faster, more informed decision-making.

“Sharing tank capacity, available H2O, and hydrant pressure are critical for firefighters when responding to fires and planning containment. If you have the meter.me system, you should share the data with your first responder partners at CAL FIRE/Napa County Fire."
Joseph Nordlinger, CEO, Napa Firewise

Frequently Asked Questions

Why share water levels with local fire departments?
+
-
By sharing your water level information, you are providing vital resources to first responders and firefighters to help them make critical decisions during an incident. This action can help prevent property damage, mitigate disasters, and save lives. Please note that opting to share your information does not mean these agencies will use it; it only means you’re making it available for use.
What info is shared exactly?
+
-
If you choose to share information with emergency services, fire agencies, and fire programs, the following is included: water resource location, current level, capacity, connection type on your water resource (if provided), and photos of the component (if provided).
How do I bring meter.me to my local fire department?
+
-
Fire Share is currently live for fire agencies in Colusa, Lake, Solano, Sonoma, Napa, and Yolo counties. Want to see it in your area? We can work with Tablet Command to expand to additional fire districts—just reach out to us!
Can I give multiple users access to my meter.me system?
+
-
Yes, as many as you’d like! meter.me is built for shared access, with flexible user roles that let you control who can see what. As the system owner, you can assign everything from view-only permissions to full access. Many of our customers share meter.me with family, friends, service contractors, and property managers to keep everyone in the loop.
Do I need internet, cell, or power?
+
-
No, meter.me works beyond cell, WiFi, and power! Here’s how: Your base will connect to the cloud via your local internet or a cell signal and transmit a long-range, low-power signal (called LoRaWAN) throughout your entire property–in some cases up to several miles! With this signal, you do not need WiFi, cell, or power anywhere else on the property.
